What's included, and what costs extra?

The monthly rate covers the room, three home-cooked meals and snacks a day, help with daily care and medications, housekeeping, personal laundry, utilities, and activities.

A few things cost extra, and only when they're provided: a caregiver for one-on-one supervision overnight or during the day, and an evacuation by Mary's House in an emergency. Instead of one-on-one from us, your family can hire its own private caregiver. The amounts are written in the admission agreement, and we go over them with you before you sign.

First and last month's rent are due at move-in. There's no separate security deposit. We keep last month's rent in a separate bank account and tell you in writing where it's held.

How families pay

Most families pay privately. If your parent has long-term care insurance, ask us how it applies. Medicare doesn't pay for assisted living.
